The aim of the article was to characterise problems typical of various mathematical models of collision. Many input parameters particularly difficult to estimate (e.g. restitution coefficient, vehicle structure rigidity, EES) significantly affect calculations results. It was proved necessary to perform calculations taking into account data and results tolerance bands. Examples of such calculations have been quoted. Application of computer programs improves calculations accuracy due to numerous control parameters.
