BEVU 2012 Brasov Bartelsesides a variety of information on vehicles, injuries and the respective accident circumstances, GIDAS database includes detailed reconstruction data. Such data are determined by a person who reconstructs each year about 1000 accidents. For the big number of accidents to be reconstructed, there are analyzed both the simple intersection accidents and the complex roll-over accidents. In order to provide a high quality of the reconstruction data, there are high demands regarding the accident circumstances that must be created in PC-Crash and which are determined based on a detailed accident sketch. In order to minimize the period of time necessary for the reconstruction, by keeping at the same time the constant quality, 3D Geo-data can be used. Based on the sampling area of the accident research within the Technical University of Dresda GmbH (VUFO), in an internal study there was verified the existence of such Geo-data. Then the appropriate data of the geo-base were ordered at the state company for Geo-base information and measurements in Saxony (GeoSN). The conversion of the 3D Geo-data format incompatible with the PC-Crash is analyzed and an adequate variant is identified, so that such data can be used for the reconstruction. For representing the higher values when using 3D Geo-data, reconstructions are performed, for example in certain limit conditions. Based on the results determined during the reconstruction and based on the time necessary for the corresponding creation of circumstances, there could be determined a reduction of the reconstruction period.
