The following paper answers the question from which impact-intensity during an automobile collision wear marks on safety-belts will be found. For this purpose research on restraint systems in more than 20 crash-vehicles was done. The impact-intensity is described by the change in the frontal-acting velocity. There is a range between about 10 and 98 km/h. The comparison of impact-intensity and degree of wear marks on the seatbelt-system shows, in low impact-intensity crash tests recognizable wear marks on the seatbelt, which are not to mix up with marks of use. In high impact-intensities several clear wear marks are found in many places.
