Within this project 15 collisions between passenger cars, 12 collisions between trucks and passenger cars and 19 collisions between vans and passenger cars as well as 10 tests of road subsurfaces with several probands were arranged. The statements of the probands were correlated and evaluated statistically with the measured data. The tests have been made in 2009 Rösrath and 2010 in Wittstock as well as in preparation of several legal proceedings, where the analysis of the tactile perception of small collisions were primary focused, by the Institute of Accident Research Hamburg. The aim of this paper is to work out generally accepted criteria on the basis of the measured data and probands’ statements. These criteria should be a help for the experts in order to differentiate if the evaluated collision was perceptible, barely perceptible or imperceptible for the driver.
