edinburg2015 04Driver assistance systems are not just designed to make driving more comfortable: they are also intended to make driving safer. The Allianz Center for Technology (AZT) evaluated selected assistance systems, such as the ESC anti-skid system and AEB autonomous emergency braking, on the basis of claims databases from the insurance sector. Taking actual loss events into account, it is clear that the systems are relevant and useful in preventing accidents with consequences ranging from minor physical loss or damage up to serious bodily injury.
